Klanghelm MJUC is the most effortful Klanghelm plugin to date. It took almost two years of extensive, dare I say “excessive”, research and development. To create MJUC I’ve researched and analyzed each and every variable-mu* implementation I could get my hands on to get the best of tube compression into a single processor. In order to do the diversity of this compression topology justice, three different models have been built. These are kinds of time travel through the history of tube compression to capture the essence of each generation. Each model has its own dedicated signal path and dedicated control set. Klanghelm MJUC is the first Klanghelm plugin, that’s built with the help of a new framework. That brings a lot of new usability features such as GUI-resizing, AB-ing, and a feature-rich platform independent preset browser with save/copy/paste/save-as-default functionality. Furthermore, it’s possible to tweak the knob behavior, enable tooltips, show/hide value labels, and more. All these features will find their way to the existing Klanghelm plugin as soon as possible.

Key Features:

• The Mk1 is based on a variable-MU* * design from the early 1950s. Since the control voltage is so high, it does not produce an acoustic sound. Other mu * variable designs have high GR constants and fast timing. This product also has a very simple signal path, with compression directly on the audio path. As a result, the compressed characters appear very natural. As a result of the placement of the four mu * variable stages, Mk1 is extremely dense and thick. It is also the most colorful of the MJUC models.
• Unlike the classic 1176 FET compressor, the Mk2 uses the more sophisticated design of the 175 and 176 from the early 1960s. By providing four ratios, density switches, it is possible to control two-variable mu * stages and minimize the dependence of the attack program and recovery timing. Additionally, you can activate the transformer between stages to reduce overall noise and distortion and emphasize compression. The second model has less jazz and more rock and roll than the Mk1, improved tones, and a more positive sound.
• It has the best Hi-Fi sound and is the least colored MJUC. This is Kranhelm’s latest interpretation of this compression algorithm. The only design idea that comes from the famous mu * comp variable of modern times is that the circuit is completely differential, making it extremely quiet and almost distortion. The actual compression of this model is done by two different variable stages mu *. This results in aggressive attack, pierced compression, and surprisingly close resemblance to the British G-type bass from 670.
